Rebecca McLeod
Founder of Diverse Minds Therapeutic Practice and Therapist
“If I can provide a relationship which allows a person to be themselves, I will have done my job” - Carl Rogers
My name is Rebecca, and I am a trauma-informed therapist, but more importantly, a human being shaped by lived experiences that create a rich tapestry and deepen my understanding of life along with its complexities. My own wounds have been nurtured through therapy, allowing me to hold a safe, empathetic, non-judgemental and supportive space for you. This embodies my person-centred approach to therapy, which respects client autonomy and recognises individuals as experts in their own lives, possessing the internal resources for growth and change.
My role as a therapist is to facilitate your journey at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Depending on your needs, I may integrate other therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy techniques, mindfulness, or somatic practices that focus on the connection between body and mind.
I provide Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) as a distinct offering for clients seeking targeted solutions and goal-oriented support. SFBT is effective for a variety of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression and life transitions.
More About Your Therapist…
In addition to my therapeutic work in private practice and within an agency. I bring extensive experience in social work, youth work, and fostering (yes, I am a foster carer). In these roles, I have provided extensive support to young people and families from diverse backgrounds.
While I work with a range of issues, I specialise in all forms of abuse, including sexual violence, domestic abuse and narcissistic abuse, as well as addressing the residual effects of toxic parenting. I also offer support around anxiety, bereavement, loss, divorce/separation, parenting challenges and racial trauma.

What Our Clients Are Saying
“You always managed to close me at the end of our sessions. This was important, so I could focus on the week ahead. When things were difficult between sessions, you equipped me with the 'tools' to cope.”
“Thank you so much for all you have done for me. I have benefited tremendously. For the first time, I have allowed myself time and care to work on my self-esteem. I think we have both worked really hard, and it has been an emotional but amazing journey.”
“I started this journey believing I could not live without the person who abused me. I ended it understanding the dynamics of abuse, that the abuse was not my fault and empowered enough to move on alone - I developed my self-worth”
